About Amani's Palestinian Kitchen

I’m Amani, a Palestinian woman from Gaza, sharing my family’s recipes as a tribute to my late husband and our life together. In the midst of war, cooking became my way to remember, to heal, and to love. This book is a piece of my heart; thank you for being part of my story.

My Story

I never imagined myself writing these words. I never imagined a life without him - not now anyway.

My husband was more than just the love of my life—he was my partner, my protector, and the father of our four beautiful children. A young man, full of promise, taken from us too soon by the occupation. I can still hear his laughter in our home, still feel his warmth when I close my eyes, but when I open them, all that remains is an empty chair at our makeshift table and the weight of our loss pressing against my chest.

This is not a tragic love story meant for the pages of a book—it is real. It is raw. It is the quiet ache in my children’s voices when they ask for their father. It is the tear-streaked faces they press into my shoulder when night falls, longing for the bedtime stories only he could tell the way they loved. It is the way my youngest still waits at the door, hoping he will return.

I am not here to ask for pity. I am here because I refuse to let my husband’s love die with him. The world can be cruel to widows, and even crueler to children without a father. But I refuse to let my children’s future be another casualty of this war.

Our home—the one we built with love—is in ruins. I must rebuild, not just for a roof over our heads, but for the dignity, safety, and stability that every child deserves.

I am reaching out, heart in hand, asking for help. Not just for bricks and mortar, but for the future of my children. For the chance to give them warmth, education, and the security of a home that whispers their father’s love in every corner. Because while war took him from us, it will not take everything.

If you find it in your heart to help, you are not just giving to a widow—you are giving to love, to resilience, to a family that refuses to be broken.

Even if you cannot financially support us, the following will help tremendously:

  1. words of encouragement, or comments on posts and reels

  2. likes on my posts, photos and videos

  3. sharing our story to someone that is able to advertise our campaign on their Instagram page

With immense gratitude,

Amani and her four little hearts ♥️
